Welcome to Publishing 101! 📚🐛
We are a small group of English Literature students who have noticed how elusive the publishing industry really is. So, our mission is to hopefully give some insight for any aspiring bookworms who wish to work in this business!
In particular, we will be looking into the independent publishing sector - including artists' books, fine press and small press - because we feel this is the most accessible side of publishing for those just starting out. On our Interviews page, we will be talking to some individuals who already work in the world of books to tell their story and give their invaluable advice. We will also give some general tips for things you can do to put yourself in the best position as well as sharing local opportunities in York which you can use to start your journey on our Opportunities page. And finally, we will be conducting surveys on our Instagram and post the results on the Your Thoughts page to see what you think about publishing, so be sure to check out our Instagram and get involved!
